6 Weeks

How far along: 6 wks 3 days

Total Weight Gain/Loss: By my scales calculations about 5 pounds lost

Maternity Clothes: Nope but I got my bella bands in this week and it was so nice to slip on after lunch.

Stretch Marks: Just the classics

Sleep: Either I wake up every few hours or I am having crazy vivid dreams. I woke up crying Saturday morning.

Movement: Nope

Food Cravings/Aversions: The aversions are gone for now. I wouldn’t say I have craved them but I have eaten more pizza and macaroni and cheese here lately. Also a disturbing trend is I have wanted Coke the last two days, not Coke Zero or Diet Coke but the real thing.

Gender: No idea

Belly Button In or Out: In

What I Miss: Being able to take medicine for a headache

What I am Looking Forward To: Seeing the baby and hearing the heartbeat

Weekly Wisdom: Don’t listen to everyone’s horrible stories and people trying to scare you because you will have your own unique experience.

Best Moment This Week: Well he may not have even realized that he did it but when RJ rolled over last night and went back to sleep resting his hand on my belly that meant the world to me.
Growing like crazy, baby is starting to sprout eyes, ears, nose, cheeks and chin. Those little hands and feet- still webbed like paddles- might wiggle by week's end, the heart is beating (almost twice as fast as yours!), and blood is starting to circulate.

The nausea has set in and comes and goes through out the day now. Still no throwing up but several times I've ran to the nearest trash can, toilet, or even sink. I know this is only the beginning but I would so love to wear my pjs to work. We have started moving in our new house and have received a tremendous amount of help and support from family. We really appreciate it and for those reading thank you so much. This is going to be a long tiring week and I'm ready to get settled in and relax because moving and 1st trimester do not work well together. Oh and I totally meant to take a belly pic this week for comparison later on but I haven't had the time or energy.

Nothing About Pregnancy is Consistent

So far that has been the lesson for the last two weeks. I have had several days of bad nausea and then at moments I couldn't be better. Then there are the ups and downs emotionally and I think that my chest may explode at nite time but really isn't so bad by morning. Oh and let's not forget the bloat. Sunday and Monday I could not button my pants (making it difficult to keep them up) but today they're fine . Everyday and sometimes every hour leaves me guessing what's next. I realize this may seem like a rant but I'm more amazed than anything by the changes taking place. I just felt the need to get some random thoughts off my chest as I contemplate going to bed with a wet head. I'm really tired so a curly day is in store for tomorrow.

Week 5 and Some Big Changes

So this month has been crazy and now we have decided to get back into town and we will be packed up and moved by Feb. 1st! I can't say that I'll be sorry about having to miss out on lifting the heavy stuff. The house is older but has some major renovation to the kitchen and bathroom. I think once we put a few personal touches and get everything situated it will be great. I just always hate the first couple of weeks that it doesn't feel like home. Time is flying and creeping all at the same time.

How far along: 5 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Nothing either way so far

Maternity Clothes: Nope, but now I’m unbuttoning my pants after lunch. Good thing I work in a cubicle.

Stretch Marks: Only the originals

Sleep: Not so great. I’m not sure if it is anxiety or the gas that wakes me up in the night. I woke up last night to burp and go back to sleep.

Movement: Nothing, not even the intestines. Going to the bathroom and being able to button my pants is overrated anyhow.

Food Cravings/Aversions: So far nothing much sounds good and things are starting to taste different. Ketchup and vanilla shakes just aren’t the same anymore (not together of course).

Gender: I find myself thinking both at times so I still have no feeling yet.

Belly Button In or Out: In

What I Miss: Being able to shower without the water feeling like it is pelting my boobs with rocks.

What I am Looking Forward To: Moving into our new house and the ultrasound.

Weekly Wisdom:
When bad morning sickness kicks in it may be a good idea to keep a trash bag in the car with you. I heard some lovely stories about puking while driving today. I have had a few moments I thought I would lose it but so far so good.

Best Moment This Week: Finding a home that we will be able to raise our family in comfortably and signing the lease today.
Your embryo (looking kind of like a tadpole) is starting to form major organs (heart, kidney, liver, stomach) and systems (nervous, circulatory, digestive). Baby's presence in your uterus triggers production of hCG (the hormone detected by pregnancy tests)... which triggers production of other hormones like estrogen and progesterone... which trigger all those great symptoms you've probably been noticing!

4 Week Quiz and Into

After 13 long months and two prescriptions of Clomid later we are finally Pregnant!

This was cycle #16 and I was getting very discouraged and wondering how far we would have to go to get our baby. I was so shocked to see that second line show up on the internet cheapie test. I got my first positive on January 5th at 12 DPO. After carrying the test around for an hour trying to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me I finally decided to wake RJ up and all he could say was "Are you sure?" So on break I decided to break out the big guns and go pick up the FRER tests to confirm and within seconds that little pink line was already there (best $9.97 I've ever spent). By this time RJ was still not convinced so I went to the Dr. on lunch and took my first beta test which came back at 33. The Dr. had me come back on the 7th for my follow up bloodwork and it had more than doubled at 89! Everything seems to be fine and on track. I will try to do a quiz each week and at some point include pics.

How far along: 4 weeks 2 days

Total Weight Gain/Loss: None either way that I know of. I need to pull out the old scales.

Maternity Clothes: Nope but since I was a fatty to begin with I will be looking into getting a Bella Band soon. The button on my jeans dig into me and this is a great excuse.

Stretch Marks: Only the massive ones from the weight gain after quitting birth control.

Sleep: Well the last couple of days my back has been killing me so I've been so sleepy all day long and then when I get in bed I can't get comfortable. I've also been waking up in the middle of the night and having a hard time going back to sleep and then waking up early. Ugh

Movement: None unless you count all the gas.

Food Cravings/Aversions: So far nothing sounds good and I have been eating several small meals which works better with keeping my blood sugar steady. I even had a good dry heave in the shower the other night. I like it in a strange way cause I know this is real.

Gender: We are both leaning towards boy since we'd prefer a girl, lol.

Belly Button In or Out: In

What I miss: I kinda miss coffee and liquor but I can deal with that.

What I am Looking Forward To: Getting to see and hear the baby at the first ultrasound on February 2nd. Right now I'm getting more used to the idea of being pregnant and after good blood tests we have every reason to believe this is a healthy pregnancy but I will feel so much better once I see the baby and I guess this goes with the mom territory.

Weekly Wisdom: Be sure to eat small meals regularly it keeps the nausea and the shakes away for me.

Best Moment This Week: Seeing that faint pink line show up.
In week 4, now safe in your womb, the ball of cells (blastocyst) splits in two, becoming the embryo and the placenta. The amniotic sac and fluid are forming around baby, and will act as a cushion for the next eight months.
