28 Weeks

How far along: 28 Weeks 6 Days

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I guess I’m still up 3lbs but not sure till I get back to the Dr.

Maternity Clothes: Still trying to wear some older shirts with tank tops under them for extra length.

Stretch Marks: No worse

Sleep: Pretty good until the last couple of nights. I just have to be sure I don’t move to fast because I tend to pull muscles when I forget about the belly.

Movement: Gracie stays very quiet while I’m at work here lately but when I get home and sit still and when it’s bedtime she really comes to life. I have also started feeling hiccups at least once a day.

Food Cravings/Aversions: Still eating all sweets in sight and I’m trying to stay away from the fried foods since I haven’t been feeling well.

Gender: Girl

Belly Button In or Out: I can’t tell there has been much change but I can pull the skin just right and it pops out.

What I Miss: Sitting down and getting up without grunting.

What I am Looking Forward To: I’m so ready to get her room put together and all of her clothes washed but I’ve got to wait a while.

Weekly Wisdom: Stay away from Mexican food till the gallbladder is gone.

Best Moment This Week: It hasn’t happened yet but my friend Cindy has offered to pull us in after she gets done with her work for a free ultrasound. I can’t wait to see how much Gracie has grown in 10 weeks.

No new fruit pic till next week, but here's some good info on what's going on inside me this week.

•The fetus has its own regular intervals for sleeping and being awake.
•2.2 pounds weight and is 14.8 inches in length from head to heel.
•The feet are just over 2 inches (5.5cm) long.
•The hair on the head is now clearly visible.
•The milk teeth have developed under the gums.
•The eyes are starting to move in their sockets.

Brain waves show rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, which means your baby may be dreaming. Eyelids are opening. Eye color may change within the first six months of life especially if your baby's eyes are blue or gray-blue at birth. Remember to talk to your baby often; reading stories, singing songs has been seen to slow the baby's heart rate. He or she can recognize your voice now and will often calm to it later after birth.

Branches of lungs are quite developed now, so there is a good chance that baby would survive if born prematurely now. If your baby is born this week, the chances of survival is now at least 90 percent. However, some complications are still possible.
